Meteorological near-surface observations in the area of Adventdalen, Svalbard, in summer 2022

By laraf |

Three temporary automatic weather stations were installed in the area of Adventdalen to observe characteristics of local flows between July and September 2022. The locations were at the southern side of the coast of Adventdalen (COAST), at the northern slope of Sverdruphamaren/Platåberget (SLOPE), and at the top ridge of Nordenskiöldfjellet (RIDGE). Air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and direction were measured at one (SLOPE) or two levels (COAST, RIDGE). The temporal resolutions were 1 minute (SLOPE, RIDGE) and 1 second (COAST). The measurements have gaps and errors due to icing (RIDGE) and rain (SLOPE).
