Abstract:
The ARKXXIV/1 cruise of the German icebreaker Polarstern took place from 20 June
to 10 July 2009 and was focused on oceanographic investigations in the northern
Nordic Sea. The main work sites were Fram Strait between Svalbard and Greenland
and in the Greenland Sea. Hydrographic mesurements during the cruise included
the standard section in the nothern Fram Strait along 78°50N, which has been
occupied regularly since 1997 (27 stations)

Abstract:
This data was collected as part of an international joint effort during IPY to
conduct a quasi-synotpic Pan-Arctic survey. During this cruise (ARK-XXIII/3),
the work of the previous year (ARK-XXII/2) was extended toward the East-Siberian
regions with a CTD transect in the southern parts of the basins from the
Canadian Basin to the Nansen-Gakkel Ridge

VAGABOND is a dedicated base camp for DAMOCLES, which main objective is to study
sea ice and brines formation. France Pinczon du Sel and Eric Brossier bring
their polar yacht VAGABOND and their experience to work with scientists for 5
years, on the East Coast of Spitsbergen 2004-2009. During the stay,
oceanographic, meteorological, radiometric and atmospheric soundings were made
in Storfjorden.

Abstract:
Arctic Ocean Experiment 2001 AOE-2001 was an icebreaker based field experiment
with a target on the formation of low clouds in the central Arctic summer during
July and August 2001. A main portion of the 2-moth experiment was a 3-week ice
drift from 89 to 88 degN. Main components of the meteorology part of the
experiment were surface-based remote- sensing observations, general meteorology
observations (weather staion and soundings) and boundary-layer observations on
